Cure for the Monday blues...and the blog breaks

Decided to end my blogging break and start out with this great inspiration photo from Taheerah !
The ridiculous ease at which these cards came together was almost unbelievable, and when I saw the curtain in her inspiration photo I knew what I wanted to make immediately.

The only hard part will be deciding if I should make cards out of them or turn them into stationery ... Decisions decisions...

Thanks for a great jump start T! Hope to be around more often...

Baby girl card

The first thing I bought when I found out I was having a baby girl ( almost 3 years ago!! Eek!! ) was a pair or ruffle bottom tights. They are my absolute favourite!

So when I came across a card on Pinterest with a ruffle bottom I kicked myself for not thinking of it sooner. And them figured out how to easiest create the look.

I used PTI's onesie die and cut the top off.
Some ruffled ribbon- mine happened to be elastic, so I backed the piece with chipboard so it won't bend and bow.

Doilies, pink polka-dots and ruffled bottoms. That's what little girls are made of!

Fabric card fronts

Amber at Damasklove made some awesome fabric stationery and I had to give it a try.

I laid down some fabric on a card front that had been covered in scor tape. Trimmed the fabric and ran some liquid glue around the outside. When dry, I had to cut it down as I used the green Tombow that dries tacky- whoops!!
So I re ran a but of regular glue around the edge. Used PTI's Stiched Sentiments and a sentiment from WMS fancy phrases

Some SU pleated ribbon that is not baby blue as shows up, but a beautiful dusty aqua seemed appropriate.

The nice thing about this technique is that the stamped parts sink into the adhesive a little more than the rest, giving it almost a letterpress texture! Beautiful!

Have a great weekend!

Wedding card

This card = labour of love !

Lots of punched branches, lots of glue and sticky fingers, lots of snipping with scissors and a whole lot of love.

Special wedding card for a special couple. Used some hoarded products ( silver edged notecards, blue shimmer cardstock ) and I lived! Imagine that!!

Plaid W's

Today's post is brought to you by the letter W - for Wplus9 and Waltzingmouse stamps.

I have a box of already stamped stuff that I need to go through and use. This plaid stamped panel was in there and made this card come together SO quickly.

Filled in the stars with a Spica. A little bit of shine can still be masculine right??

Monday mood board at Wplus9

I love the colours Dawn posted on her mood board this week - http://www.stampawaywithme.blogspot.com. As soon as I saw the colours I pulled out my clay and silicone molds and made a ton of little embellishments - I'll be well stocked in these colours lol!

So I made a beautiful card and realized that it didn't have any Wplus9 products on it!! Kids were still sleeping so I had a chance to make a second- phew!

I used Wplus9 Chantilly Trim and their scalloped die on the bottom of the first (second ;) card. I also made a bouquet out on one of the elements from that set with a bit of masking. Some clay flowers and a little ribbon bow. Messed up some stamping and covered with a banner.

The second card uses a fun Kraft chipboard price I picked up at Michaels. Some MME patterned paper ( ummm, for some reason it rang up for a penny. I may or may not have gotten a few more packs!) and ruffled ribbon from SU. Another big crush!! Sentiment is from PTI's half and half

Thanks for looking!!

I wanted to show the card I made hubby did valentines day cause it was really fun to make!! Used lots of PTI dies on it..email me with any questions!!
thanks!

MIM 103 die cut double up

I made this card on Monday, and with all the anniversary blog posts I almost forgot to post it!! Talk about under the wire!!

The leaf die cut is memory box. Also, the bright colours were just freaking my camera out but it's a dark navy, orange zest and new leaf.

Went to my brother who loves to travel...

PTI Sketch challenge

Time for another quick card. We have a teddy bear picnic birthday party this weekend - how nice to have a stamp for every occasion !

Some crate pattern paper, rhinestones, a little bow ( lets not discuss how long it took me to tie! ) and some flocked noses.
Done!

PTI YOF card

Ok that post tittle will only make sense to PTI fans lol!
Ahhhh Friday night. Kids in bed, a little glass of fruity wine and some crafty time- pretty close to perfect!!

This card was inspired by some beautiful wallpaper, and Kara's recent watercolor stationery.

I stamped and embossed YOF carnation into some textured cream stock. Water coloured the label with worn lipstick distress ink and outlined it with my signo uniball gold pen. Some little embelishments, and a sentiment from YOF violets.

This was a lot of fun to make. Thanks for the cool technique Kara!!!

PTI Challenge #1 take 3

Lots of fun creating this one !
I was inspired by Maile and her use of white space which is really intimidating to me..but I compromised by using lots of white lace ribbon instead.
One pop of colour, some shimmer cardstock ( something else that reminds me of Maile) and a little pearl button later- all done!

I think I've started a real lavender moon kick. I almost never use this colour, and this grosgrain is the only ribbon colour I have in it, but its really crept up on me. I'll definitely be using it more often!

More Festivities

I caught a few more minutes to make a card on the busiest day of the week in our household...yeah me!!

I used Heathers printable to make a name day card. It's a celebration that's very common in orthodox Christian faiths. It's a celebration of the feast day of the saint you were named after. Back in the old days in the village, seldom did anyone remember the date you were born ( hence no b-day's) but they knew when the feast days were so you got to have a celebration at least. History lesson over lol!

Back to the card, oh my gosh I'm in love!! I would buy this stamp in an instant!

PTI Anniversary Cont'd

Second card I picked from Erin's project. I liked the card with lavender moon and stars. I need to use this colour more often!! I used the super star border die, and the little ones are the middle of the stars. I put a strip of scor tape on the back before I ran them through my big shot so that I could adhere them easier. A little snippet of ribbon tape to the bottom...wish I had a stapler.

PTI Anniversary Challenge #1

All right folks it PTI anniversary time!! That means fun and challenges for the next 10 followed by an exhausted lull that can be heard throughout craft-land.

My first card is inspired by Danielle's whole picture. I picked an element here and there. BB rainbows, doilies, pearl pins and aqua mist. I mashed them all together into my first card. The stamping on the card base was done with the same colour ink. Stamped once on the top, twice around the middle and three times on the bottom. Could be neater...oops!!

PTI blog hop

Not a lot of time today ( just happy I had time to make the card!) So here's a few things I learned.

1. I hate the Fiskars swivel fingertip knife. A lot. It may or may not be residing in my garbage can.

2. There's something funky about my red embossing powder. Even with the embossing buddy it left a red film of powder on the paper that was hard to get off.

3. I love ruffled ribbon.

4. That shower stamp from Scattered Showers is my most used stamp EVER! It needs a good cleaning as I can barely get it to stick to my block...

Thanks ! Have fun hopping!!

One last MIM entry

So I wasn't intending to do another card for this weeks MIM. I truly set out to make a card to mail to my cousin in Greece- she had a little procedure done and I wanted to cheer her up a bit.
But of course I left it till last minute so I scrounged through my pictures folder for a pretty card to case. I came upon a beauty from Veronica z which I can't link from my phone, but do yourself a favour and google Veronica Zalis blog. You'll be there for a while!! Such pretty creations'

Anyways, after putting my card together I realized the embelishment was off the page. So I grabbed a slightly larger envelope. A piece if acetate will protect the back, and bubble wrap ( yes, bubble wrap) will hug the front. Since there us only one layer of it it's still mailable as letter mail.

So glad to be working on another 2013 resolution which is 'get the stinking cards in the mail!!'

Another MIM entry

Ok this card was sooo much fun!! Feeling like I'm getting mojo back and back in the groove...
I have this card pinned (http://seeinginkspots.blogspot.ca/2012/04/nutty-for-preinking.html?m=1)
And I really wanted to try the parallel lines of embossing. I used the same general card layout as well.

I've had these huge Maya road crochet flowers for ever. Figured it was time up use them as the theme for 2013 will be 'don't hoard!!' they are quite a bright cream and I wanted to shabby them up a bit but had no idea how. So i grabbed my SU Kraft marker, and started drawing. Then I went in with an aqua painter to soften the lines a bit. Interestingly it broke the colours in the Kraft down and I stated seeing a blue and an orangey colour so that's how I pulled my paper and the rest of the card together.
PP and brad is SU, sentiment is from PTI's mat stack 3. Flourishes are an MFT die. I shaded around the embossing a bit with an E00 Copic to make it stand out.
For my bag I used Mat Stack 3 again, and some more of the PP. I decorated with a resin rose I had on my desk.

This was a super fun challenge. I love packaging cards like this, it's so pretty and has such an impact. I don't think I'll ever use an envelope for a hand delivered card again!!!

MIM #100

Hello here with another MIM entry.

This week we were challenged to make packaging for oversized cards ( or cards with oversized embellies)

I made my card with Natural Beauties (what a gorgeous set) and FF #11.
The sentiment is from Beautiful Blessings.
I also used the Woodgrain impression plate after stamping.

I'm hand delivering this with a gift so I decided to make a little pocket. I have these Kraft square petal fold cards from Paper Source. It's meant to close all the way but I kept the top tap open. I closed it with an adhesive label that coordinates with the card.
I added a little eyelet to the top. Now I can glue the pocket to a gift or hang it from a bag.

Thanks for looking!!

Make it Monday with Papertrey ink

Two MIM's in a row?? Must be a record for me!
I'm here to share a card that was a real labour of .. Well something lol as I'm not sure I 'love' it!
I cut some white paper ( backed with some scor tape first) with memory box's piestra die and decided to use the rainbow scheme to create chevrons of colour. This was not as easy as I anticipated...my smallest circle punch is slightly bigger than what I needed as there was a lot of fussy cutting!
I'll include a picture of the crazy back just for fun!
