Shower

Whoops !! Sorry for the absence, but I'm back at work and in the real world after my maternity leave.....and stamping time is hard to come by !

I'm actually sacrificing sleep to stamp. And I LOVE my sleep so that is a real indicator of how calm this hobby makes me !

Anywhoo...on to the card.

Had to create a shower card for a customer. This card uses some MME lost and found paper..it is SUCH a pretty line. I rarely use this much pattern paper- or this little stamping!- on a card but it felt right.

Rose Red and Kraft - my new favourite colour combo !!

I emphasized the ribbon around the dummy's waist with some glitter and an i-rock pearl. Paper was stamped with an SU punch, and ribbon is SU kraft seam binding.

Stamps in the upper corner are PTI scattered showers.

Thanks for looking and enjoy your day !

One....or Eleven

I was asked to make a card for a little girls first birthday, and told that they had bought her a tea-set.
I thought it would make a great theme for a card...till I remembered I don't have any teacup stamps. So I purchased a digital image from SU and used it in their MDS software.
First I re sized it and repeated it for a background. I printed that onto some MME Lost and found patterned paper. Then sized them larger for the focal point
Then I thought about some teacup cupcakes I had seen floating around blogland...and the rest of the card just went along!!
Felt is PTI, the frame is and embossing folder from SU that I ran through a few times to make it smaller. Ribbon is SU seam binding.
When I showed my hubby the card he says to me......
So who's turning 11 ??

The greatest cards...

Are the ones you make for the people you love.....when good, happy, deserving things come their way
This card was made for a cousin of mine for a very obvious congratulatory occasion.
Kraft layer was embossed with an SU embossing folder, and sponged with some white ink to emphasize the embossing.
Dies are PTI, stamps are PTI Congrats all ways and Mat stack 1, and WMS Flourishes scallops and dots.
Ribbon is some MS decorative tape I've had F-O-R-E-V-E-R !!
Flower is from my clay flower making spree this summer.
Thanks for looking !!

Bookmarks...

It may sound silly, but one thing I was looking forward to as my little guys started school was baking treats for his class on special occasions.
Sadly...there is a no treat policy at his school and I wasn't quite sure what I was going to do (lip glosses and pencils from the dollar store ??)
So a few weeks ago when Joyce sent me a beautiful Owl bookmark I was saved ! Totally cased her design, and thankfully crafty friends had the Owl Punch from SU and PTI's bookmark die for me to borrow...
These were done surprisingly quickly. I sent the circle and pinking circle from Limitless layers through my big shot together.. and instead of gluing the itty bitty eye centres I used a white gel pen.
Also, I cut the strips of paper to an approximate length before punching them out to conserve paper and avoid a bunch of punched out shapes I didn't need.
Vasili loved them, his classmates and teacher loved them, and he loooooved handing them out on the playground !!

Moxie Fab Tuesday Trigger - Partial to Teal

Hello Blogland and thanks for joining me today for Moxie Fabs Tuesday Trigger...the prettiest trigger ever ! I love love love teal, snap it up in any variation, from any manufacturer. This card was made with Paper Source's peacock - LOVE- and the lace border was stamped with WMS"s Victorian Fripperie.
The flower was made with some Maya Road ruffled ribbon, and the little rose in the middle was made to match by myself with polymer clay. Black base is PTI, as is the merci.
And, JUST for fun, I thought I'd show you some more teal and black fabyness! This is my new camera bag from Jo Totes (thanks hubs!!).
It's made to fit a SLR, and while I'm sure I will use it for that, because it has customizable inserts, I thought it would make a fabulous, organized, mommy-of-two-on-the-go bag!
Look at that interior in all it's organized glory !!

Thanksgiving Weekend

Thanksgiving is a special weekend around here (Canadian thanksgiving weekend that is!).
We celebrate our wedding anniversary, as well as our sons birthday (he was born on our one year wedding anniversary...down to the hour !)
So I guess I should say we celebrate my sons birthday..and only remember our anniversary in passing!
This is the bright and cheery card I made for hubby. Used some cool pp from AC, the Amy Tangerine line. Card stock is Amuse, Stamps and die cuts are PTI.
Some random rick rack to kinda represent guitar strings...and a fun wood grain guitar.
Off to be thankful for my many blessings.....don't forget to count yours!!

Teacher appreciation day

Yesterday was teacher appreciation day and my little guy and I put together something for his teacher - a really sweet younger teacher that seems to love him. And he has a hopeless crush on her!!
She's a coffee (or tea) drinker as I've seen the cup in her hand on colder morning, and I remembered the post Dawn Mcvey had done on coffee cozy's....and then I remembered the pre-made one I had bought at Michael's. Perfect!!
I embellished it with some PTI felt, as well as some SU fabric and buttons.
The card was made with WMS doilies sets - both of them.
Sentiment is PTI Happy trails. Ribbon is SU taffeta with a line sewn down the middle and scrunched.
Here is the whole ensemble, including the tag I made for the bag, and the card my little guy made up for her. There is a clay cameo with some lace backed that I had sitting on my desk for a yet to be determined project...and he wanted to put it on his card!! So random but there it is!

Kids Cards

Hello I'm back today with a couple of kids cards. Really quick and really simple - but that doesn't mean not just as special!
Both these cards are for 2 year olds....don't want to spend TOO much time and effort for something that may be .... accidentally ....destroyed.
So, I like to keep some special little touches that kids might appreciate on hand - namely stickers.
On the girl card I used PTI paper and some MME stickers....even on sale these buggers aren't cheap!!
I used Edgers 3 to make a little hill, coloured some alpha stickers pink and used a PTI tiny tag on the ribbon. The most time consuming thing about this card was remembering how to set the eyelet with my crop-a-dile! Don't use it often enough!!
Next a cute little monster card. I used various MME papers from lime twist line (fly a kit I believe) to make little patterned scallops.
Cut a Mat stack out of PTI Hawaiian shores, and matted a scallop circle of Terracotta Tile.
More cute little stickers..and a grosgrain ribbon.
So a couple of little kid cards that were quick and easy..going to a couple of my favourite littles !!

Under the wire for Pages with Papertrey

How's this for last minute!!

I had this page sitting on my desk for more than three weeks, just needed the kick in the pants to get in done and posted

DSC_0038 (2)

Paper is Bazzil and MME Fly a kite. I used a bunch of PTI dies, Fly Away, the eyelet border, the scallop circle (or is that spellbinders ?) Ribbon is PTI twil cut in half.
The little rocket is from my Fav WMS set, Half Pint Heroes

The numbers might be my favourite part of the whole page, they were inked in PTI Terracotta tile (2nd generation) and the embossed in clear versamark.

Cards and happy mail

Working on my latest page for the new Pages with Papertrey, hope to have that up on the next couple of days.

For now I have some cards and fun stuff to share

First off is a card I made for hubby's b-day (we all have our birthdays one after another in this house, fall is an EXPENSIVE time around here ! LOL)

DSC_0116

It's based a card dawn made for a earlier MIM, it was a great simple layout to adapt. I used the PTI number dies negative to sponge some versamark on the newsprint, emboss with clear ep and sponge some SU pool party ink around them. A corrugated star, some scalloped canvas and some star trails make this card fun !

Next is a card I made using Stampin Ups digital software. I used some argyle DSP, and then took an A letter stamp. Changed the opacity so you could see the argyle underneath, and repeated the pattern over the whole card. The sentient frame is the same letter stamp enlarged.
Used my Half and half dies, along with everyday blessing from PTI.

Look at this package I got from fellow forum member Joyce (you may know her by her owl drawing avatar that her talented daughter drew !!) She ordered some things for me and had them sent to Canada, and look how adorably it was packaged !

And lastly, the biggest happening this October in my home is this.

My little guy..well my big guy...off to his first day in kindergarden !! He's still 3 (4 in a few weeks) and he was so excited to go. Didn't give me a second look !!

Thanks for reading !!

Hello And welcome to my new blog

Thank you for coming over from my previous blog.

The title of the older blog was created when I was branching out into invitations, and I was just getting tired of the wordiness..and it wasn't really associated with me so here we are. Staring over !

Here is a small sampling of things I've posted in the last little while. Im primarily a cardmaker that is starting to branch out into scrapbooking.
